Tips
Coverage using mulch. We recommend a depth of 2 inches. To allow for oxygen movement, don't exceed a 2-3 inch depth for fine mulches. For coarser mulches, such as bark chips, you can lay a maximum of 6 inches.
- Coverage using gravel. Larger gravels are not as efficient in ground coverage as smaller gravels and mulch. Therefore, when using larger gravel, we recommend 30% more than what the calculator below will estimate. To account for an additional 30%, enter your measurements in the calculator. Click the Calculate button, and multiply the result by 1.3.
